As Valo expands its fiber optic network, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fiber Splicing Supervisor to play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of high-speed, reliable internet and communication services.

The Fiber Splicing Supervisor at Valo Networks oversees the precise and efficient splicing of fiber optic cables that are crucial for optimal network performance. This role involves leading a team of technicians, upholding safety and quality standards, and fulfilling the network's operational needs.

Key responsibilities of the Fiber Splicing Supervisor include:

  • Team Leadership and Management: Guide, train, and supervise a team of fiber optic technicians, ensuring consistent high-quality work and adherence to best practices. Coordinate with the team to ensure timely completion of projects and respond to any challenges or issues that arise.
  • Quality Assurance and Standardization: Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes for fiber splicing operations. Ensure adherence to Valo Networks' and industry standards, regularly reviewing procedures to incorporate improvements and advancements.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure all safety guidelines are understood, implemented, and adhered to within the team. Organize regular safety trainings and ensure the availability and usage of appropriate safety equipment.
  • Operational Coordination: Collaborate with the network planning and design teams to understand project requirements. Allocate resources effectively and manage schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion an ethos of continuous improvement by keeping abreast of the latest technologies and techniques in fiber splicing. Promote a culture where team members are encouraged to suggest and implement improvements.

On your resume, we ask that you outline the following qualifications:

  • Education: Telecommunications Diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications in fiber optic splicing or telecommunications are an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in fiber optic splicing with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Familiarity with modern fiber optic splicing techniques and equipment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and people management. Understanding of network design and the telecommunications industry.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality and precision, safety-conscious, adaptable to high-pressure situations, and dedicated to continuous learning and improvement.
