Job DescriptionLead the way with your forward thinking. As a Stewarding Manager, you will demonstrate the essence of creating an exceptional journey for our large department while being responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and order for all of the kitchens, dish areas and related backspaces for our dining outlets and conference centre space.
Competitive Salary: $55,500-$57,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education
Job Duties Include:
- Lead, teach, coach and inspire a team of colleagues and leaders in a 24 hour operation
- Set and achieve departmental and supervisory goals in the areas of the budget of capital, labor, and operating expenses, health & safety, sustainability, and the employee engagement survey
- Create and input weekly schedule on excel, watson, and T&A platforms
- Assist in managing procurement and inventory, minimizing expenses and increase employee productivity
- Conduct quarterly china, glassware, silverware inventory and document variances and discrepancies
- Uphold all hygiene and sanitation regulations, ensuring that all equipment in the kitchens and dishwashing areas are clean and in good working order
- Conduct audits and performance discussions for stewarding supervisors and colleagues, ensuring that all progressive corrective action forms are completed correctly and forwarded to the chief steward
- Foster an environment of positive cooperation within the department, and between other departments within the hotel, encouraging participation and input from all colleagues, while promoting professional work habits
- Conduct audits and gain feedback from the employee engagement survey process and put action plans into place and ensure goals are met.
- Ordering cleaning supplies
- Input work orders on items needing repair
- When required, drive the 1-ton delivery truck to ensure food and supplies are delivered to the correct location in a timely fashion
- Other duties as assigned
Your Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record as an administrator, trainer and developer, and a team player with strong communication and organizational skills with all departments.
- Demonstrated ability to build a strong Stewarding team through recruitment, training and organization.
- Proven abilities in attaining targets in all key measurements relating to financials, guest satisfaction, colleague engagement and standards compliance.
- Proven ability to achieve fiscal targets through implementation of inventory control logistics.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications.
- Valid WHMIS Certificate required.
- Class 5 Driver's License, with a comfort level driving a company vehicle of up to 1-ton. Must provide an updated drivers abstract.
