Position Summary:
The Laundry Team Lead supports the Housekeeping department by providing clean linens, towels and cleaning tools, ensuring they are folded to the Eldorado Resort's standards. They are responsible for operating the laundry equipment, maintaining all laundry chemicals as well as maintaining a safe work environment.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:

• Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently throughout daily operations
• Lead and supervise the day-to-day operation of the laundry room to make sure service standards are followed while also ensuring the operation is efficient and effective
• Operate all laundry equipment in a safe manner and report excessive damage/concerns to the supervisor or manager
• Manage laundry chemicals in a safe and cautious manor
• Separate all linens/towels accordingly, including different types of stains
• Sort dirty linen in time for pick up according to the pick-up/delivery schedule provided
• Perform linen and towel inventory every 3 months; keep track of damaged repairable inventory
• Provide outstanding customer service to all hotel guests
• Maintain daily cleaning tasks
• Proactively address any day-to-day operational concerns, determining appropriate solutions and actions to be taken
• Responsible for supporting the training and introduction of new laundry team members
• Actively participate in the hotel health and safety program; ensure that all associates are familiar with and in compliance with WHMIS and Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Maintaining a neatly groomed appearance (uniform clean, wearing name tag)
• Other related duties and projects as assigned
  

What are we looking for?
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

• Previous housekeeping experience is required
• Previous supervisory experience in a similar environment will be an asset, with a proven ability to provide professional, friendly and engaging service
• Must be able to work well in a team atmosphere as well as independently
• Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs
• Ability to handle repetitious movement such as pulling, pushing, lifting and bending up to 6 hours a day
• Must have exceptional time management skills
• Ability to work in warm conditions (machinery) and a medium noise level
• Available to work varied shifts: days, weekends and holidays
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and requirements
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction
