Role: Data Scientist
Lenght : 12 months
Lieu : Vancouver, BC
Responsible for developing ETKs high-priority Analytics capabilities. Focus on GenAI, graph, and neural net solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform exploratory analysis to refine preliminary hypotheses and support decision-making.
- Develop user-friendly interfaces that visualize insights for business stakeholders.
- Provide expertise in statistical, mathematical, and machine learning concepts, and validate cutting-edge algorithms and predictive models.
- Ensure disciplined governance and quality assurance across all projects, promoting adherence to standardized processes, systems, and tools.
- Provide training and development to maintain high levels of expertise within the team.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to enhance their understanding of data analytics and address key issues.
- Disseminate results to foster data-driven decision-making within the organization.
- Capture and record intellectual property generated from analytical approaches.
Qualifications and Skills
- Masters or PhD in Geosciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, with 5+ years of experience in data science projects (preferably with agile methodologies).
- Proficient in Python (knowing R would be a plus) for data processing, statistical analysis, modeling, machine learning, and visualization.
- Skilled in SQL for querying databases and handling large datasets.
- Experience with machine learning libraries and tools like Xarray, Sci-kit Learn, NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, Keras, or similar.
- Competent in visualizing data using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Tableau, D3, or similar.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS S3, AWS SageMaker, or Azure) is preferred.
- Familiarity with solving spatial or geoscientific problems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with using graph-based solutions is an advantage
