City Build Recruitment is proud to partner with our client, a leading architecture and engineering firm, to find a Senior Healthcare Architect who is ready to take on complex design challenges, lead project teams, and contribute to the firms continued growth. This role is perfect for an architectural leader who applies advanced architectural knowledge, manages complex projects, and mentors junior staff, all while ensuring exceptional design quality and client satisfaction.

Specializing in healthcare planning and design, the Senior Healthcare Architect will work closely with medical professionals, administrators, and various stakeholders to develop healthcare facilities that support effective and efficient healthcare delivery while fostering a healing environment. This role requires a deep understanding of patient flow, staff workflow, infection control, accessibility, and the integration of advanced medical technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Design and Planning:

  • Lead the development of architectural designs for healthcare projects, utilizing both standard procedures and innovative approaches.
  • Ensure that designs meet client requirements and industry standards, applying patient-centered design principles.
  • Optimize patient flow, staff workflow, infection control, and accessibility in healthcare spaces.
  • Integrate advanced medical technologies into facility designs to ensure adaptability and future readiness.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance objectives.
  • Drive design excellence by recommending improvements in design standards and applying innovative approaches.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, interpreting their needs, presenting design concepts, and providing project updates.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, administrators, and stakeholders to design healthcare facilities that meet functional, safety, and healing requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors, to ensure successful integration of architectural and engineering systems.
  • Investigate and resolve design issues, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to meet project specifications.

Project Management:

  • Perform and oversee technical analyses to support design decisions, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Manage project planning, budgets, schedules, and contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Prepare progress reports, recommend design changes, and uphold quality control standards.

Problem Solving and Innovation:

  • Address complex design challenges using initiative, collaboration, and judgment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, contributing to continuous improvement within the firm.
  • Advocate for sustainable and innovative design solutions on projects, leading the charge for innovation.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Lead project teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring that team members understand objectives and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to our clients values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community, integrating these principles into daily work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or masters degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Architect with OAA, AAA, or similar, depending on office location.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in architectural design and project leadership, with at least 5 years of healthcare architecture experience.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Advanced architectural knowledge and the ability to develop innovative patient-centered healthcare design solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead project teams and mentor junior staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
