Role Description
We are looking for a maintenance technician who is committed to ensuring efficient operation of chocolate manufacturing equipment by completing proactive and reactive maintenance requirements. The position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment. All plant staff are required to operate within a flexible work-hour environment.

What you will be doing:
Under general supervision, the primary function of the maintenance technician is to ensure the efficient operation of chocolate manufacturing equipment by completing proactive and reactive maintenance requirements. The position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines; reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Troubleshooting maintenance issues in equipment, d replacement/repair of mechanical parts (Gear boxes/bearings/oilseal/O-rings/gaskets/Valves), test and adjustments; detects faulty operations, defective material and reports those and any unusual situations to supervisor.
- Performing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities; fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures in maintaining a safe work environment for self and others.
- Promotes a continuous learning environment and sharing best practices, methods and ideas.
- Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, without advanced notice.

What you will bring with you:
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions and communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Able to perform repetitive tasks over extended periods of time
- Able to lift up to 25KG on a regular basis; up to 50kg or more, infrequently or from time to time.
- Able to work accurately with numbers and moderately complex calculations
- Able to work in a variety of environments including wet, humid, particulate (dusty), cold, hot, and indoor/outdoor
- Solid technical understanding of process and practice related to the effective use and maintenance of equipment and materials
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with various forms of equipment and tools
- Electrical knowledge and skill is an asset
- Strong manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
- Able to work well in a team environment; communicates with respect
- Strong can-do/ service attitude; capable of dealing with uncertainty
- Able to solve moderate to advanced problems, organize and accomplish tasks within set timeframes

Working Conditions:This position is required to operate and perform in a food manufacturing, production, and warehousing environment. Unique or special features of the job include:
- 80-90% of the day is spent standing, walking, bending, stooping/reaching.
- Repetitive upper body (hand, arm, shoulder, back) motion is required.
- Lower body activity is common to frequent (bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, twisting) including regular lifting and/or moving items over 55 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
