Our client is actively seeking a Fabrication Welding Supervisor to join our team in Guelph. If you are an experienced welder with leadership capabilities and a strong background in fabrication and structural fitting, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the welding team in the afternoon shift, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently, meeting quality standards.
- Manage the fabrication of steel structures, ensuring accuracy and precision in line with project specifications.
- Perform and supervise structural fitting tasks, ensuring alignment with welding projects and blueprints.
- Supervise and mentor a team of welders, providing training, guidance, and feedback to maintain high productivity and safety standards.
- Inspect welding work to ensure adherence to safety protocols, codes, and project requirements, with a focus on steel welding.
- Operate and supervise the use of welding machines, and ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Utilize overhead cranes as needed during fabrication tasks (experience with cranes is an asset).
- Assist in routine maintenance tasks, ensuring that machines and tools are properly maintained (maintenance experience is a plus).
- Ensure that all team members comply with workplace safety standards and PPE protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints accurately for welding and fabrication tasks.
- Proficient in reading a measuring tape in both imperial and metric units.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in welding, specifically with steel.
- Strong experience in the fabrication of steel structures and structural fitting.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role, managing and leading a team of welders and fabricators.
- Experience in operating overhead cranes is an asset.
- Familiarity with machine operation and machine maintenance is an asset.
- Must have a personal vehicle as public transportation does not cover the shift hours.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in reading and measuring in both imperial and metric systems.
