WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
- What you'll be making - Starting rate for this role is $26.74 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential, based on regulation ($29.57 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Regulated):
- Successful candidates who are registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g. OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the wage differential for regulation
- Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($33.90 per hour for non-regulated, and $36.71 per hour for regulated)
- For internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement
- When you'll work - We are currently seeking candidates with open availability for all shifts, including weekdays and weekends; day, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts. Shift length in these programs varies, up to and including 12-hour shifts. Relief staff have flexibility to accept shifts that suit their schedules but will commit to accepting a minimum of three shifts per month. Relief staff have the ability to pick up shifts at their discretion up to a maximum of 44 hours per week

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
- Provide mobile, telephone, and walk-in crisis intervention and addiction and mental health support
- Provide clinical assessments, direct assistant/support, crisis intervention and stabilization, advocacy, and appropriate community linkages to clients accessing services
- Complete intake assessments for crisis
- Complete intake assessments for crisis stabilization beds (SafeBeds) and provide daily support to individuals supported by the program
- Liaise with hospital staff and facilitate service planning for discharge from hospital to community
- Follow program support guidelines, working collaboratively to develop and implement individualized client care plans
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible.
We require the following qualifications:
- Post- secondary education in a related field, preferably BSW or post-graduate diploma in addiction or equivalent(primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
- Current, clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in clinical assessment and treatment, crisis intervention and support, relapse prevention, and client advocacy
- Broad knowledge of, and practice in, evidence-based treatment approaches to working with individuals with serious mental illness and addictions
- Competence in relevant computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Valid Class G or equivalent Ontario Drivers Licence without restrictions, ready access to a reliable individual means of transportation for business use including transportation of clients, and appropriate insurance coverage for said use of vehicle
- Registration with a college or professional body associated with their discipline; employment experience in the mental health field;
- Employment experience in a mental health crisis support program; and knowledge of the criminal justice system and/or addictions services sector.
