In A Nutshell:

The Sun Parlor Home for Senior Citizens located in Leamington, ON has openings for temporary, Part-time Food Service Worker. Under the direction of the Food & Nutrition Services Manager and Supervisor, the Food Service Worker shall assist with the preparation and serving of food to the residents and the maintenance of a clean and safe work area.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • 6 months experience in food service and an understanding of therapeutic diets
  • Completion of the Food Services Worker certificate program or Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Food/Nutrition Management or cooks/chefs who have a diploma from an established college or have attained the Red Seal Program status; as required by Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Standards and ability to ensure compliance with these standards
  • Fundamental knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, the Sanitation Code and the legislation related to this work
  • Ability to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability and willingness to provide a service that enhances the dignity and respects the diversity of residents
  • Must be available to work shift work any day of the week and weekends
What We Are Offering
  • $25.28 per hour, plus 12% pay in lieu of benefits according to the collective agreement.
