Freshwater Auto Centre - Lead Service Writer

Looking for a rewarding career? Our client, Freshwater Auto Centre, is hiring! We have a unique opportunity for a well-qualified Service Writer to join their growing team in St. John's NL.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager and will be the point of contact for the team. They will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, contacting customers regarding needed repairs, booking appointments and ordering/receiving parts. Their next team member must have a strong knowledge of automotive vehicles, services, and parts, and will focus on fostering quality relationships with customers by providing all available services.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Welcoming customers and discussing their needs
  • Answering customer inquiries, either in person or on the on the phone
  • Developing repair estimates by taking the cost of materials, supplies, and labour into consideration
  • Preparing repair orders by detailing the vehicle's problems and symptoms by confirming issues with guests prior to sending vehicle to tower
  • Maintaining automotive records by keeping track of problems and corrective actions;
  • Communicating findings and recommendations to guests
  • Scheduling and booking follow up appointment for repairs for guests when parts on order
  • Pre-booking next maintenance appointment when guest are her for a maintenance service
  • Calling customers to advise them about service changes or car pick up times;
  • Communicating with the technicians
  • Taking overflow of appointment calls and schedule accordingly
  • Other duties as requested

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service skills in order to handle customer complaints and questions effectively
  • Critical thinking, organization, time management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical terms to the customers
  • Decision making skills
  • Proficiency with industry-specific software
