Advisor, Business Development – University of Manitoba
Full-Time Temporary Employment – One Year Contract; potential to renewal for additional years
The Mitacs business development team members are the bridge between academia and industry. We help companies, not-for-profits and other organizations solve their R&D challenges by developing partnerships with academia and utilizing the world-class talent of Canadian post-secondary institutions. We are at the forefront of marketing Mitacs's programs to organizations, professors and students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with members of Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high‐quality programming
- Work closely with stakeholders at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and the Price Faculty of Engineering of the University of Manitoba to fully understand the needs of the researchers, students and postdocs, find industry opportunities and identify the best programs to leverage the research opportunities uncovered
- Develop collaborative research projects involving both faculties and companies throughout Canada
- Consult industrial partners on their R&D needs, introduce them to subject matter experts from University of Manitoba and advise on the best programs to leverage the research opportunities uncovered
- Create and maintain a network of partners/clients in industry and academia
- Provide support to the Business Development Team as needed
- Provide business development support to all Mitacs programs as needed
- Provide business development and student engagement support to the University of Manitoba.
Training:
- Recent Master's degree or PhD (1-2 years)
- 1-2 year work experience in building community – academic partnerships preferred

Hiring Range: $71,200 - $84,550
