We work with over 1,500 brokerages with flexible, competitive products adapted to the needs of insureds, with a growing share of online distribution. Part of the APRIL Group with 2,800 employees worldwide, APRIL Canada currently employs 100 people in 3 offices (Toronto, Calgary and Brossard). We are currently looking for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTIVE for our Ontario brokers-partners, based in Ontario, to reinforce our Business development team.

What we expect from you for this position:
Your main role is to explain and promote APRIL products, appetites and specific programs, listen to their needs and collaborate internally with our operations and marketing teams to provide the best quality of service to our brokers.
Your action will be targeted to our existing broker network, as well as establishing new business relationships.

Your role will include:

  • Meeting brokers daily to understand their strategy and highlight touchpoints with APRIL's priorities
  • Communicating on our appetites, products with our marketing and underwriting teams
  • Being active in training brokers to our appetites, and through our accredited APRIL Academy courses
  • Create new accredited training to continue the growth of April Academy
  • Analyzing broker performance numbers and proactively offering ways to develop the brokerage's business
  • Attending industry meetings and events, including activity on social media, increasing APRIL offer awareness
  • Connecting to the rest of the APRIL team (underwriters, marketing, digital) to improve our offer and quality of service.
  • Reporting weekly activity in APRIL CRM

You'll fit in our team if you:

  • Have a passion for the customers
  • Have a minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales, ideally in the insurance field
  • Have robust communication and customer service skills
  • Have planning and organization skills
  • Have strong work ethics and flexibility
  • Have a good team spirit and a willingness to collaborate, even remotely
  • Are curious and like to learn, enjoying a stimulating and dynamic work environment
  • Valid driver's license and a vehicle is required

You should live in the Toronto area, and be willing to come to our Toronto office (200 Consumers Rd - M2J 4R4) at least once a week in order to connect with our operation team or two days a week when you are not meeting brokers.
