Primary Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including month- and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, variance analysis, and trust account reconciliations.
Develop, maintain, and review the Finance Policy and Procedures Manual; provide technical accounting advisory for the organization.
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for all entities within the corporate group, assisting CEOs with monthly reporting packages.
Lead the compilation and review of financial reports and supporting documentation.
Reconcile inter-company transactions monthly.
Execute KPI analysis, competitor reports, and provide insights to management.
Monitor and implement new accounting standards and compliance requirements.
Handle provincial and federal tax filing requirements.
Respond to financial inquiries through data gathering and analysis.
Assist the CFO with special projects and process improvements.
Perform other assigned duties.
About You
Post-secondary degree in Business; working towards or holding a CPA designation.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in finance.
Strong technical accounting knowledge; insurance and warranty accounting experience preferred.
Ability to address complex accounting issues and develop practical solutions.
Self-motivated, well-organized, with a strong attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset.
Proficiency in financial modeling in Excel.
Must have supervisory experience.
Experience in the auto industry is a plus.
Ability to interact professionally with senior management.
Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing workload effectively.
