With manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the country, AEP has expert design and engineering teams, multiple-shift state-of-the-art manufacturing operations, and industry leading capabilities.

AEP is currently looking for a regular, full time Logistics Coordinator to manage and coordinate all of the logistics and shipping functions at our busy Nanaimo location. Reporting to the Operations Manager, our ideal candidate will be driven, detail-oriented, possess phenomenal organization skills, and have a proven track record of exceptional communication with clients, partners, and co-workers in a fast-paced and competitive industry. This role is essential to our smooth operations as they are the key communicator between our sales, production, and shipping teams internally, while also liaising with our customer and strategic partners externally. As this is a customer-facing role, the Logistics Coordinator will have a deep understanding of how to provide exceptional customer service, be skilled in problem-solving, and be able to create out-of-the-box solutions “on the fly” to complex shipping and logistics challenges. This role will be solely responsible for the back-end delivery schedule, optimizing geographical delivery plans, and providing daily direction to our delivery team. In addition, the Logistics Coordinator will provide the ongoing monitoring and management of all material movement within the lumber yard to ensure employee safety and inventory management are both a top priority.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • 2-4 years of experience in a logistics coordinator or shipping coordinator role in a fast-paced industry;
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a high-pressure environment;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently to provide clear, concise, and detailed instruction to multiple stakeholders;
  • Ability to monitor and manage a dynamic and busy lumber yard;
  • Experience coordinating production and delivery timelines between multiple departments;
  • Experience providing leadership and direction to a team of people primarily working offsite;
  • Experience in optimized geographical delivery planning;
  • Experience with growing companies supporting builders, construction, or multi-site manufacturing organizations will be favorably viewed;
  • Fluency in English in written, reading, and oral communication (speed, accuracy, and proper expression),
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel;
  • Ability to provide a current Police or RCMP Criminal Record Check.
