JANITOR (FULL-TIME)

We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Janitor at the Band Office and Health Center. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within both facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This position requires reliability, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, countertops, and floors, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, waiting areas, hallways, and other common areas.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, chairs, and windowsills, to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, light switches, and handrails, to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.
- Refill soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towel dispensers in restrooms and other designated areas.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, including chemicals and equipment, to ensure adequate stock levels. Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor for prompt resolution.
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of meetings, events, and other activities held within the facilities.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of staff, patients, and visitors at all times.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management to support the efficient operation of the facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred, especially in a healthcare or office setting.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
