Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a driven individual to fill the role of Fabrication Planner/Detailer for our client located near Brantford, ON. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Mechanical Engineering or possess equivalent experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to read blueprints are essential for this role. Additionally, a solid understanding of fabrication practices, industrial construction trades, welding procedures, and metallurgy is required. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are also vital to excel in this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, design/detail, procure materials, and ensure quality control for fabrication projects.
Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure smooth project execution.
Provide technical guidance and solutions related to fabrication for team members.
Initiate and complete the necessary documentation for projects, acting as a resource for both shop and field teams.
Support customers by addressing technical inquiries and advising on the application of fabricated items.
Work independently, adhering to industry-standard practices, while interacting with a diverse range of individuals inside and outside the organization.
Foster a culture of safety, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety regulations and standards.
Key Requirements:
A College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a High School Diploma with equivalent experience. Experienced C of Q trades workers may also be considered.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to read blueprints.
Strong knowledge of fabrication practices, industrial construction trades, welding procedures, and metallurgy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively handling the administrative aspects of the role.
Ability to manage schedules, meet deadlines, and resolve problems as they arise.
