Job Title: Estimator Low-Rise Production Build
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with experience in low-rise residential production builds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a range of low-rise residential projects. This role requires strong knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and production building techniques, ensuring competitive and accurate bids for high-volume residential developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for low-rise residential production builds, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Review architectural plans, specifications, and related documents to ensure all project requirements are included in the estimate.
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for all construction components, such as framing, foundations, roofing, and finishes.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive quotes and evaluate pricing for various trades.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, ensuring all cost data is current and relevant to market conditions.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions for residential development projects.
- Provide support to project managers and construction teams during the pre-construction and construction phases to ensure cost control.
- Analyze subcontractor bids and ensure alignment with project scope and budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication throughout the bidding process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the residential construction industry, particularly in low-rise production builds.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong knowledge of residential construction materials, methods, and labor costs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors.
- A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
