Securiguard is looking for an energetic and motivated Operations Manager to join our team at our North Coast Location.

Position Summary

As an operations Manager, you will be playing a vital role in achieving our exponential growth and driving forward our mission to make people feel safe. Your focus will be on establishing and nurturing partnerships by effectively managing all issues in your assigned account portfolio while ensuring a high level of service. You will be working closely with clients, the Securiguard team members, and internal operations, and will be the primary point of contact for client service, employee performance, and incident de-escalation. The team member in this role will report to the Branch Manager. This is a dynamic role, and we are seeking someone with a self-starting, entrepreneurial spirit, who is passionate about the industry, and looking for an opportunity to develop their careers with a leading organization!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, advice, and counsel to all site security team members in achieving client satisfaction.
  • Ensure maintenance of strong and effective relationships with clients, customers, and key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the training and deployment of guards for all operational sites within portfolio
  • Manage, mentor and coach teams to success, address conflict and identify solutions to ensure a cohesive working environment.
  • Conduct site reviews, write audit/review reports, review findings, and make recommendations to clients.
  • Perform annual risk analysis for the operational sites, including but not limited to disaster recovery plan, critical incident command process, and protocol, etc.
  • Provide advice and counsel to clients on security policy and practices. Identify exposures and make recommendations.
  • Act as a lead when it comes to investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of assets for clients/sites, and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Perform incident analysis and investigation related to all incidents.
  • Develop and implement site-specific training and improvement programs.
  • Ensure resources are appropriately and efficiently allocated to key areas of work and that priorities are always covered adequately.
  • Responsible for budgets; ensuring proper control and management to achieve deliverables to clients and to the company.
  • Ongoing review of the non-billable overtime at sites and liaise with the team to reduce and rectify the causative factors.
  • Maintain Security Operations Manuals/post orders and all site directives with updates annually.
  • Be fully versed in the operations of all accounts within the portfolio. Provide onsite assistance in the form of relief, coverage and support as needed.
  • Be able to work an adaptable and flexible work schedule that will meet the demands of a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Routine travel (daily/overnight) to support operational and client needs.
  • Ability to obtain a BC Security Workers License as well as other security clearances specific to both Securiguard's and our clients operational needs

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a manager or supervisor in an operational setting
  • Class 5 Driver's License
  • Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills.
  • Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a 'hands on' problem-solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
  • Experience with writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases, and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels.
