The Role:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, the Food Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance for product labelling, provide technical leadership in the areas of regulatory compliance in the Food Manufacturing industry, act as a backup for QA Technician when needed, as well as perform other duties assigned by the QA Manager. This role is a temporary 6 to 8 month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Product Labels, Finished Product Specifications, Raw Material Specifications, Intermediate Product Specifications are aligned with GFSI / SFCR / FSEP regulatory requirements and Codex requirements;
- Tracking of Revisions of Products Labels, Finished Product Specifications, Raw Material Specification, Intermediate Products Specifications;
- Perform internal audit on Finished Product Labels, Finished Product Specifications, Raw Material Specifications, Intermediate Product Specifications for SQF edition 9 requirements and SFCR Regulatory requirements;
- Develop, update and re-assessment of methods of preparation, formulations, labels etc. for all products;
- Provides technical leadership in the areas of regulatory compliance;
- Identify and investigates labeling issues and recommends appropriate corrective action;
- Ensure all Finished product / shipping labels are compliant with Canadian manufacturing, importing and exporting countries requirements;

Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrated competency in project planning, execution, communication and change management.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science with at least of 2 years of experience in Food Regulatory Compliance and Labelling;
- Experience with Genesis Nutrition software;
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and follow-up;
- Demonstrated ability to identify potential issues and resolve complex problems;
- Knowledge of statistics and quality control techniques;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Previous experience within the Snack, Sweet, Dairy industry and/or food manufacturing is preferred;
