Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

We are seeking a highly organized Temporary Works Coordinator for our metro project, capable of managing multiple topics simultaneously. This role is critical for coordinating temporary works with internal teams and external consultants, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Design:
- Identify and understand design brief request from internal teams to follow the topic independently.
- Coordinate with external consultants for the design and review of temporary works, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.
- Facilitate design meetings and workshops, effectively managing discussions across multiple topics.
- Launch the request for quotation to the external consultants and prepare the comparison table between offers.
- Implementation:
- Coordinate the preparation and installation of temporary works on-site, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
- Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to address various concurrent activities and timelines.
- Could conduct for specific purposes site inspections to verify compliance with designs and safety standards.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all temporary works meet health and safety regulations specific to the project.
- Conduct risk assessments for multiple aspects of temporary works and implement necessary safety protocols.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor the integrity and performance of temporary works, coordinating inspections and assessments with external consultants.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation across various topics, including design calculations and compliance records.
- Record and keep updated all folders of TW packages,
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as the main point of contact for external consultants and internal teams regarding all temporary works-related matters.
- Foster effective communication among stakeholders to facilitate coordination on multiple fronts.
- Proactively address and resolve conflicts or issues that arise during project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in temporary works coordination, particularly in metro or heavy civil construction.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage several topics simultaneously.
