YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Ensures compliance with local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Stay abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assist in the implementation and administration of human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; employee relations; performance management; employee engagement; and training and development.
- Develop /facilitate new employee orientation and key employee programs
- Provides training and guidance to management and employees on company policies and procedures and other HR related topics
- Responsible for maintenance of key HR metrics.
- Administration of Leaves (STD/LTD/WSIB)
- Management and Administration of HRIS (UltiPro) and Payroll backup
- Implementation of new training database to capture employee training
- Identifies and recommends process and system improvements to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and credibility of HR team services.
- Full cycle recruiter - Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience with full cycle recruiting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, power point).
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, the organization's HRIS system. UltiPro (UKG) experience an asset
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and readily adapt to changing work priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly analytical mindset
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Post secondary education in Human Resources Management with 3+ years relevant experience
SECURITY:
- Must be able to meet Canadian Controlled Goods requirements
