Preschool Assistant Teacher/ECA

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Assistant/ECA with experience in a academic setting . This position offers a unique opportunity to support and collaborate with our Preschool teacher within our classroom.

All ECA's will be responsible for assisting in promoting the physical, emotional and intellectual growth of students, by providing support in some of the following areas:.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support with daily routines, including but not limited to toileting, hygiene, dressing, serving snacks, putting children down for nap, cleaning and maintaining classroom and toys
• Foster a collaborative partnership with classroom teacher, administration, other staff members, parents and students with clear and concise communication
• Assist with planning, preparing and implementing crafts and other activities
• Work independently in small groups and/or as a whole class in collaboration with classroom teacher, and occasionally with other classes within the school
• Assist in regular observations, record keeping, progress reports, and an open line of communication with parents and supervisors
• Provide individualized support to each child based on their strengths, needs, interests and parent preferences
• Maintain a nurturing, safe and developmentally appropriate relationship and environment for all students
• Become an active and supportive member of the growing InnovOak School Community
  

Requirements

• Prior RCA experience or equivalent
• Prior work experience in a Canadian setting
• Able to support the teaching and goals of the classroom, while taking leadership or co-teaching when appropriate
• Hyper focused on student wellbeing and safety at all times.
• Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and curriculum.
  
• Ability to work with and collaborate as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to be nurturing, caring and create a fun classroom environment
• Able to incorporate academic activities into play using songs, activities, crafts and other ideas
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Preference given to candidates in the KW area.
