The Paradise Animal Hospital and Wellness Centre in Paradise, NL (suburbs of St. John's) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our progressive, busy, small animal practice. To help you help them, we offer 30 minute appointment times, file dictation and the support of 30 fabulous and knowledgeable support staff. We offer a walk-in service from 8 am to 10 am for urgent care or emergency appointments and rotate our doctors on the schedule to cover these walk-in appointments. As an RVT this provides daily opportunities to utilize your valuable technician skills.

About The Role:
Our ideal Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure. Experience in surgery and with client interaction is a asset.
