SALARY: $58.82-$71.64/Hour

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Program Manager, this position provides the opportunity for a self-directed, highly motivated and results-oriented Nurse Practitioner. In alignment with our mission, vision and values, we are looking for a Nurse Practitioner who excels in engaging people, promoting quality and safety, and working as part of an interprofessional team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing high quality clinical services to patients requiring mental health support in the Emergency Department.

Education and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse Extended Class (Nurse Practitioner) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Extended class specialty certificate in Mental Health/Psychiatry would be an asset. No restrictions on registration or professional practice hearings pending.
  • Mandatory Liability Insurance that meets CNO requirements for NPs ($5M coverage per setting).
  • Successful completion of a CNO-approved course to legally enable prescribing of controlled substances.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills in mental health
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and commitment to the principles of the CNO Code of Conduct.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong team and network building skills, create effective working relationships and partnerships.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Double vaccinated with a Canadian recognized COVID vaccine.
  • Excellent attendance and availability required.
