In this role, the Mobile Footwear Consultant (MFC) drives one of our fully stocked “Shoemobiles” to our corporate customers workplaces in a defined territory, addressing the footwear needs of their employees by providing the proper fit and the right recommendations for appropriate footwear for the job.

Our ideal candidate must be self driven, self motivated, able to be a strong team player while still being able to work autonomously, someone who is passionate and wants to provide the best service possible to each customer that comes onto the truck. We service customers all over the province and are looking for someone who enjoys the ability to be on the road, and not tied to one location!

Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Customer Service:

  • Successfully perform the Mister Safety Shoes Customer Service and POS standards while demonstrating professional etiquette through integrity, honesty, and respect.
  • Ensure customer concerns are dealt with effectively, promptly, and with the utmost consideration.
  • Build lasting relationships with corporate contacts, stay connected, and convey suggestions for improvement.

Operations:

  • Develop proficiency in all operational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for inventory counting, ordering, and stocking of new merchandise.
  • Accurately process sales and exchanges/refunds using the company's POS system.
  • Responsible for the daily housekeeping of the Mobile.
  • Identify maintenance needs and communicate to Management for repair.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss by following MSS policies and procedures.
  • Keep an accurate daily driving log that follows the Ministry of Transportation regulations.
  • Perform a daily circle check of the truck with no exceptions.

Qualifications:

  • A D-license is required. Any license class D and above is an asset; however, MSS will assist in obtaining the license to the hired candidate.
  • A clean driving abstract is required.
  • Able to offer flexible availability, including the ability to work various hours. 
  • Willingness to travel and accommodate overnight stays, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in varying environments.
  • One year of work-related experience such as customer service and/or route sales-driving is required, or the capacity to undergo extended on-the-job training.
  • Background in retail management would be advantageous.
  • Ability to problem solve and excel independently under pressure while effectively prioritizing tasks and ensuring consistent high-quality performance.
  • Proficiency in delivering outstanding customer service, establishing a reputation for going above and beyond to meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with customers and internal teams, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems to process cash/card/voucher transactions and manage customer information.
  • Work requires regular intensive activities such as carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, use of ladders to safely access elevated areas, and standing/sitting for extended periods, bending and/or moving comfortably in confined spaces to perform job tasks.
  • Work requires vigilance, concentration, and attention to detail for longer periods of time.
  • Work often requires frequent exposure to disagreeable elements, given the predominant nature of the role involves driving.
