Job Description

The Jewish Security Network (JSN) of Greater Toronto seeks to hire qualified and dedicated staff to run the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The successful candidates will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and protection of the Toronto Jewish community by supervising the operations of the 24/7 command centre, working within a dynamic team of support staff.

Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations Centre, SOC Supervisors will oversee the SOC shifts, and ensure high-quality and timely response to routine and critical incidents. Through operating centralized software, SOC Supervisors will manage incident response, relationships with community partners, and internal assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the SOC on a shift-basis using sophisticated technology and supporting assets including SOC Operators
  • Lead the team by providing both strategic direction and hands-on guidance to team members in handling effectively related issues
  • Oversee incident response and detailed record keeping, keeping senior management upraised of important developments along the way
  • Manage SOC Operator onboarding and training, and regular evaluations
  • Attend regular meetings and trainings, and assist with peer-to-peer training sessions
  • Oversee system maintenance, test drills, and other regular system checks and troubleshooting as required
  • Assist JSN with event security as needed

We are seeking someone who possesses the following skillset:

  • A graduate of a Bachelor's Degree program required, concentration in computer science, security, or other relevant fields considered a major asset
  • A minimum of 4 year's experience working with software and large technological assets, including as a back-end user and administrator
  • A minimum of 2 year's experience managing other staff members and/or acting as a team lead
  • Exceptional computer skills, including the ability to type >50 words per minute in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer-service experience
  • Fluent English speaker, reader, and writer required. Proficiency in Hebrew considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Toronto's Jewish community and its institutions considered a major asset
  • Geopolitical awareness, knowledge of relevant global events, and cultural sensitivity is required
  • Ability to manage stress well and work efficiently under immense pressure required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and detail orientated
  • Familiarity with situational awareness and other security strengths considered an asset
  • Availability to work regular shifts as assigned including on weekends and evenings/overnight
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite required
