POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is pivotal in developing and implementing a comprehensive human resources framework that aligns with the organization's strategic objectives. In this role, the HRM will serve as a vital resource for department managers, supporting their HR responsibilities while driving the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures. Key responsibilities included ensuring the effective execution of HR functions such as recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, the HRM will oversee bi-weekly payroll processing and streamline the onboarding process for new hires. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Administration (DOFA), the HRM will be essential in cultivating a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring HR practices align with the organization's overall strategic goals.


QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration or commerce, or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration is required. Alternatively acceptable, several years of experience as a Personnel Officer, Human Resource Specialist, or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
• In-depth knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, Health and Safety, AODA, WSIB and other related legislation.
• Solid understanding of labour relations, conflict resolution, mediation, and employment law.
• Proven ability to plan and implement the human resources program to align with the strategic plan.
• Ability to oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Capability to monitor daily HR activities and provide leadership to any managers or HR staff.
• Experience in designing and executing recruitment and selection strategies that attract qualified candidates.
• Proficiency in conducting market research related to HR policies, including compensation strategies.
• Expertise in managing benefits administration, including market research and evaluating benefits options.
• Ability to implement and lead agency health and safety programs effectively.
• Skilled in fostering an employee-orientated culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, retention, development, and high performance.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with agency staff, management, board members, benefits providers, labour lawyers, and all other internal/external stakeholders.
• Prepare monthly Human Resources reports to the Board of Directors.
• Commitment to always upholding the highest level of confidentiality.
• Exceptional interpersonal, management and leadership skills.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, time management, and decision-making abilities.
• Flexibility to adjust daily work hours as the Director of Finance and Administration requires.
• Valid Ontario G Driver's License and be willing to travel.
• Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Drivers' Abstract. and
• Proficiency in Anishinaabemowin is preferred and considered a significant asset.
