We are looking for a Millwright
Responsible for repairing, installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams.
Millwright Job Description
Primary job functions include:
- Repair automated machinery maintenance and equipment.
- Ability to work in a safe manufacturing environment (PPE, safe cell, taking responsibility, shared vigilance) Not only following the safety rules and company policies also encouraging fellow workers to follow safety rules and company policies.
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools, Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Support and complete predictive and preventative maintenance tasks and maintain documentation
- Maintain basic building equipment and conduct repairs such as shipping doors, air compressors, etc.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts. Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery and maintenance workshop.
- Spare parts selection and procurement.
- Provide building maintenance as required.
- Basic machining and fabrication and welding.
- Ability to work to blueprints, sketches, etc.
- Create and/or modify FANUC and ABB Robot programs with effective Troubleshooting.
- Provide effective and efficient troubleshooting expertise on all automated machines using schematics and PLC logic
- Supervise outside contractors when required and ensure compliance of safety standards.
- Maintain basic building equipment and conduct repairs such as lighting, building electrical, etc.
- Work with our engineering department to ensure that spare parts, training, manuals and parts standardization are adequately addressed during the installation of new equipment.
- Involvement in Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Support production with machine setup and operation when required.
- Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the Canadian HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
- Ensure QMS conforms to the requirements identified in IATF 16949 and AMTB Process Map.
- Fulfill all responsibilities as identified in the Employee Handbook.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Requirements, and Personal Traits:
- Completion of Ontario Millwright License
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
- Experience utilizing visual work instructions to complete a task independently.
- General mathematical skills are required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous exposure to robotic or automated manufacturing.
- Knowledge or exposure to welding is considered an asset.
- Exposure to ISO14001 and TS16949 standards is considered an asset.
- Experience participating in World Class Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
