Summary:

The Compression Manager will be responsible for the overall management and safe operation of Certarus' bulk CNG portable and permanent hub compressors. This hands-on role involves leading and managing, CNG compression operations, ensuring technical assurance for optimal platform performance, and delivering exceptional customer service to build a loyal customer base.

Schedule:

  • This position will hold normal business hours, but always ready to support 24-hour operations.
  • Frequent travel with overnight stays in the US and Canada is expected.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in the operation and management of portable and permanent compressors.
  • Oversee compression preventative maintenance and equipment spares programs, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Promote the optimization, modification, and maintenance of compression equipment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local service personnel in current and prospective operational areas.
  • Collaborate Regional Managers to develop "Make Ready” and “As Returned” policies and protocols.
  • Foster good working relationship with Regional Field Technicians to ensure consistent service across all North American hubs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and government safety and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collect customer feedback and address field-related issues tactfully, particularly concerning gas quality and equipment rebuilds or failures.
  • Provide feedback to Sales, Engineering and Regional Operations.
  • Initiate and drive strategic growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to refine compression equipment design based on operational feedback.
  • Schedule portable compression projects, working with sales to forecast and prioritize compression job
  • Manage other special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of oilfield experience with a background in compression and gas/trucking logistics.
  • Strong technical expertise in natural gas compression and piping distribution equipment.
  • Certified Industrial/Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright is preferred.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of compression operations, including production, distribution, and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Team-oriented management style, promoting teamwork and a positive atmosphere.
  • Clean driver's license along with valid oilfield safety certifications, such as H2S, First Aid, and CPR as well as any other required certifications.
  • Proficient in the use of computer-based programs.
  • Willingness to travel to hubs in Canadian and the USA will be required.
