Your Responsibilities: As a co-op student at Millards, you will:
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
- Handle client bookkeeping and generate compliance-related financial reports.
- Prepare working papers for review and compilation engagement files.
- Build proficiency with accounting and bookkeeping software.
- Learn to identify when and how to seek guidance from senior team members.
- Work directly with co-op students, senior accountants, managers, and partners.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an Accounting or related program, with a plan to pursue a CPA designation.
- Previous experience in an accounting firm is an asset.
- Strong academic performance in accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Aptitude for learning new software quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
