Nurse (RPN) - $32.50/hr, Mileage reimbursement

Job Description: As a member of the River Spring Home Care team, you understand how to care with heart - this is essential! Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • As a brand ambassador, the RPN treats clients and team members with courtesy and respect.
  • Review care plans arranged by the case manager (Care Coordinator) prior to beginning a visit, complete records accurately, and carry out all assignments as requested.
  • Engage in open communication with your Care Coordinator when opportunities to elevate your client's experience and care are identified.
  • Deliver comprehensive professional nursing care consistent with the care plan, nursing assessments, and client needs.
  • Perform all skills, treatments, and procedures competently in accordance with the provincial scope of RPN and adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of River Spring Home Care.
  • Assess and provide client and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis.
  • Assist clients in all activities of daily living/hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and so forth.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Current Certificate of Competence and in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses.
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
  • Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.
  • 1 year of nursing experience required; three years nursing experience preferred. Community, home health, or medical/surgical experience preferred.
  • Vehicle/Valid driver's license, proof of insurance required, and must be willing to travel to remote locations in surrounding rural areas.
  • Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector Check (less than 1 year old, updated a every 5 years).
  • Driver's Abstract (paid by River Spring Home Care).
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (less than 2 years old, updated every 5 years).
  • 2 Professional references.

Availability:

  • Flexibility is required.
  • Casual.
