ADGA is currently looking for a "Senior System Architect" to provide the services of a Subject Matter Expert to support -
- the SEM (System Engineer Management) of the Land Command Support System (LCSS) Mobile Domain (MD) program and
- the Tactical Communication system on this well-established Defence program!
Tasks include, but not limited to:
- Provide expert systems engineering embedded support to the ongoing development of the LCSS MD System.
- Draft, review and provide comments on LCSS MD technical documentation including use cases, system requirements, architecture, design, development, integration and test documents.
- Participate in LCSS Mobile Domain Architectural Working Group and Mobile Domain Steering Committee.
- Draft, review and provide comments on LCSS MD system support tasks.
- Participate in the development of LCSS MD system level design artifacts including mission threads, system use cases, services, Enterprise Architect System Model, MD managed interface control documents (ICDs) and the MD quality of service (QoS) implementation profile.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations for the resolution of LCSS MD system level issues and design options.
- Participate in the development and prioritization of LCSS MD SI test cases, the production of test reports and the tracking, classification, prioritization and resolution of MD SPRs.
- Provide support for LCSS MD SI Modeling and Simulation (M&S) including installation instructions, production of M&S modules, evaluation of M&S support environments & scenarios and production of M&S design documentation.
- Provide support for staffing LCSS MD system artifacts through LCSS System Engineering Process including the Network Engineering Working Group (NEWG), the Engineering Control Board (ECB) and the System Engineering Working Group (SEWG).
- Arrange and participate in LCSS MD system level reviews (e.g. design & requirement reviews, integration and test readiness reviews, etc.) and oversee the production of meeting minutes.
- Draft, review and/or provide comments on MD system management (SM) tools documentation including systems requirements, architecture, design, development, qualification, production, ISS and fielding documents.
- Provide IV&V of MD SM deliverables.
- Participate in MD SM technical reviews (e.g. system requirements reviews, design reviews, integration and test readiness reviews).
- Support the MD Engineering team in the execution of the existing engineering processes and defining engineering process improvements. As well, providing technical advice and guidance on engineering processes for MD and Tactical Communication subsystems.
- Support the MD Engineering team in managing the various MD and Tactical Communication systems baseline(s) by providing technical advice and guidance on architecture, installation, configuration, and/or operation for MD and Tactical Communication subsystems and equipment used in various platforms; and
- Support the MD Engineering team in packaging the various MD and Tactical Communication systems baseline(s) by providing technical advice and guidance on packaging consideration to support MD and Tactical Communication system architecture, installation, configuration, and/or operation for MD and Tactical Communication subsystems and equipment used in various platforms.
- Other duties as needed.
- Must be eligible to apply for the Secret Level 2 security clearance (contract requirement) and work on-site (full time) in Gatineau.
- Proof of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) bachelor's degree in network, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.
- Minimum of 5 years' of demonstrated experience as a System Architect on Military Command and Control Communication and Information systems or ISTAR systems.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience within the last 6 years in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering.
- Must have demonstrated Professional Engineer License within Canada.
- 10+ years of related experience.
- Developing architecture in one or more of the following areas:
- System-of-Systems level architecture for C4ISR systems.
- System requirements gathering for complex systems.
- System level architecture for command-and-control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment.
- System level architecture for command-and-control communication and information system, within a Client/Server environment.
- ISTAR System level architecture for Military C4ISR systems; and/or
- Data architecture definition and implementation for C4ISR systems or similar systems
- Analyzing, designing, and/or implementing solutions in one or more of the following areas:
- Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment.
- Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment.
- Military ISTAR systems.
- Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements; and 5. System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
- Demonstrated work experience in system integration, verification, and validation, for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom developed) in new or existing systems, in one of the following areas:
- Command and control communication and information systems within a distributed platform environment.
- Command and control communication and information systems within a client/server environment.
- Military ISTAR systems.
- Joint or Allied C4ISR Interoperability solutions using NATO Standardization Agreements; and
- System management solutions (tools and processes) for communication & information systems and/or ISTAR systems.
- Demonstrated work experience as a systems engineer in communication and information systems (Hardware, Software and Network) or Specialty engineering (Security, Modeling, Simulation, ISTAR).
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in at least 4 of this assessment area's criteria below.
- Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
- Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
- Must have experience providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
- Must have experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks, or strategies.
- Performing strategic, operational, or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.
