THE ROLE

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Millwright will install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot industrial machinery and mechanical equipment throughout the manufacturing facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to locate heavy machinery and parts
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
  • Install, assemble, and dismantle machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including lubrication, adjustment, and calibration
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems with machinery and equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts, such as gears, bearings, and shafts
  • Align and test equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Responsible for any fabrication work in the shop
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform maintenance tasks
  • Fabricate and install machine guards, safety devices, and other protective equipment
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Monitor and record equipment performance and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and other maintenance personnel to resolve issues

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of Millwright apprenticeship and qualifying exam
  • 433A Millwright license required
  • Fabrication experience required
  • 5 Years of millwright experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience an asset
  • Experience repairing automated paint line an asset
