Position Summary:

Reporting to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Operator supports the delivery of excellent customer service by adhering to standard operating procedures in relation to product processing including picking, receiving, storing, moving and loading all materials and finished products between the Company's warehouses and in preparation for shipment to customers.

Responsibilities & Expectations:
  • Performs material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking for shipment of Sales Orders to customers, receipt of goods from suppliers and internal replenishment orders.
  • Adheres to warehouse rules to ensure proper location of materials and finished product inventory.
  • Processes internal replenishment orders as requested, completing all ERP transactions.
  • Performs all inventory transactions, utilizing the ERP system or barcode scanners, to track all movements through the ERP system.
  • Assists in cycle counting activities as required.
  • Operates forklift or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store all inventories.
  • Handles dangerous goods, following established protocols, documentation and safety regulations.
  • Proactively reports and addresses any inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and efficient warehouse by adhering to all cleaning checklists and protocols, which includes cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Maintains inventories of warehouse supplies, including pallets, wrapping and cleaning materials, etc.
  • Checks products and packaging for basic quality defects.
  • Proactively reports and addresses safety issues and concerns.
  • Completes special projects and assignments as required.
  • May assist with driving company truck.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a warehousing or shipping/receiving environment, with a preference of experience working in a food production facility.
  • Previous forklift experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Experience with WHMIS and TDG is preferred.
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently is required.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Preference for experience in driving a 3-ton truck.
  • Class 1A license is considered an asset.
