Here's what you will do as Supply Chain Coordinator:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will assist in the logistics and procurement operations to ensure smooth flow of the VM Food Group product line by doing the following:

  • Collaborate with the production team to plan and execute the incoming raw material and expected production output to satisfy shipment requirements;
  • Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and packaging, issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries. Ensure materials are delivered with appropriate paperwork;
  • Coordinate initiatives to optimize day-to-day inventory movement in the most cost-effective manner from sourcing, demand forecast, inventory management for production to shipment of finished goods to the customer via the third-party warehouses;
  • Maintain appropriate raw material levels to meet the production needs. Review production schedule and analyze material requirements and availability. Prepare and stage all needed inventory for production;
  • Coordinate regular cycle counts and provide inventory reports for both production and procurement. Ensure warehouse capacity & inventory levels are kept at optimal & cost-effective levels at 3PL and VMFG warehouse;
  • Inform and guide warehouse team of upcoming requirements and provide inbound and outbound warehousing support (onsite and 3PL);
  • Work with Logistics to help coordinate inbound and outbound shipments throughout North America with both Canadian and US 3rd Party Warehouses and carriers;
  • Help prepare transportation paperwork, follow up with carriers to ensure timely deliveries to customers and transfers to and from 3PLs;
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency within Supply Chain;
  • Special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of VM Food Group.


Here's what you'll need to be successful as Supply Chain Coordinator:

  • Completion of college diploma in supply chain management or other relevant field;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Supply Chain (including warehouse / inventory management, procurement and logistics) within manufacturing industry. Experience in food manufacturing and/or Consumer Packaging preferred;
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification an asset;
  • Good understanding of procurement and supply chain, project management and manufacturing;
  • Proficient in MS Office (including Excel) and MRP systems;
  • Focused and detail-oriented with a high sense of ownership to see tasks and projects to completion;
  • Problem solving skills with initiative to investigate, prioritize and resolve situations independently;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, deadlines and changing priorities;
  • A strong sense of urgency with the ability to work under pressure while coordinating multiple orders and tasks concurrently;
  • Team oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Eager to learn new concepts and master new skills.
