ZAS is currently seeking an Architectural Graduate or Intermediate level Interior Designer to join our Toronto office and grow with us. Current and prospective projects are almost exclusively commercial / institutional tenant improvements . Roles and Responsibilities
You will be expected to contribute to the design development of projects and the production of drawings in an accurate and timely manner. You will be able to work independently on specific tasks and as part of a project team. The position will require you to assist in producing drawings and documents as directed by team leaders, which may include all phases of the project. Work may include graphic and presentation work as well as general project organization and filing. We will expect you to ask questions, communicate with your team members and organize your work to meet goals.

Skills Required
Our ideal candidate will be a graduate from a CIDA accredited (or equivalent) post- secondary institution with a minimum Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. We are looking for a talented and well-rounded individual who enjoys both the design and technical sides of Interior Design and Architecture. Time management and the ability to contribute to meeting deadlines are the attributes we expect from all of our employees.

To qualify for this position you need to possess:

  • Residence within commuting distance to downtown Toronto, ON.
  • Strong design, graphic and presentation skills, including the ability to translate ideas from concept to detailed drawings.
  • Experience (min. 5 year post-graduation) in an architectural office environment in Canada.
  • Experience in significant project phases from concept through completion.
  • Experience with and interest in tenant improvements.
  • Experience using AutoCAD 2018 (or above) and Revit software.
  • Excellent understanding of ON Building Code, Toronto Building Code Bylaws and basic building envelope concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member, and to incorporate direction well.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work within project constraints.
  • A desire to gain real-world skills that will aid you throughout your career.

Our ideal candidate will be either an Architectural Graduate with a Master's Degree in Architecture or an Interior Designer from a CIDA accredited (or equivalent) post-secondary institution with a minimum Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.
