One of our food clients in Mississauga, ON is looking for a Refrigeration Operator for their packaging facility.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor refrigeration systems, including ammonia and other industrial cooling systems, ensuring optimal performance.
• Conduct routine inspections, identify potential issues, and perform basic troubleshooting of refrigeration equipment.
• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, filter changes, and system calibrations.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of equipment performance, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the refrigeration system supports operational needs and production schedules.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and environmental regulations, ensuring all refrigeration systems are compliant with applicable codes.
• Support in emergency shutdowns and start-ups, following established procedures and protocols.
• Report any malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel for further action.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in ammonia refrigeration or similar industrial refrigeration systems preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience operating and maintaining refrigeration systems, particularly in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical systems and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
