YW Calgary is dedicated to supporting women and their families through programs and services like shelter, counselling, childcare and much more. Our mission is to intervene, empower and lead where and when women need us most. To achieve that mission, we need volunteers who want to make a difference in our community. Throughout the year we offer a range of volunteer opportunities from special events, to regularly scheduled opportunities such as front desk reception and administration, community engagement, fitness instruction and fundraising.

This posting will remain open for those interested in volunteering with us. Applications will be kept on file if there are no current opportunities available or an immediate match cannot be found.

REQUIREMENTS TO VOLUNTEER

  • The minimum age to volunteer with us is 14 years old due to safety protocols.
  • A Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check are required due to the nature of our work. (Note: one-time, special event volunteers are exempt from this requirement).
  • The desire to contribute to our cause and support women and their families thrive in a safe and equitable community.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and growth.
  • Motivation to contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive work culture and environment.
