Accounting Assistant (Vendor Billings)
This is a contract position for 1 year, with a possibility of extension.

This position works closely with our buying group and external vendors to administer and bill all vendor funding opportunities such as scan-back allowances, promotional allowances and cooperative advertising allowances. This position requires a commitment to customer service in all dealings with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting Merchandise Managers and Buyers with vendor coop revenue planning and year to date spend.
  • Preparation of summary information/reporting on vendor participation in cooperative advertising.
  • Filing and handling of inquiries and problems related to vendor funding from Head Office departments and vendors.
  • Final preparation and data entry of all coop revenue billings initiated by London Drugs Merchandise Managers and Buyers.
  • Reconciliation of related vendor funding G/L accounts.
  • Supporting Vendors Online and managing vendor access requirements.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting processes.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to fine detail.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and take the initiative to complete tasks as they arise.
  • Work well as part of a team, as well as independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to remain focused within a fast paced, deadline oriented, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Initiative to isolate and solve problems.

Employees will be scheduled 40 hours per week and will typically work a standard schedule of Monday to Friday.
