Cheme Process Specialists are junior engineers and engineers in training that have a get-it-done attitude and dedication to client service that allows them to deliver projects on time, according to specifications, and on budget for our clients. The successful candidate has excellent analytical abilities and verbal and written communication skills with a passion for technology, industry, and manufacturing.

The duties of the successful candidate will consist of a combination of the following tasks:

  • Installation coordination with contractors and vendors
  • Equipment selection, sizing calculations, and P&ID development
  • Execution of engineering calculations
  • Preparation of construction specifications, user requirements, and functional specifications
  • Commissioning and validation protocol preparation
  • Attendance of factory acceptance testing and on-site execution of commissioning and validation activities
  • Travel to client sites for site review and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Applied Science degree in engineering from a recognized Canadian university
  • Ability to register with the Professional Engineer's of Ontario as an Engineer in Training. It is expected that professional practice examinations will be written and passed within 1 year.
  • Mechanical, Chemical, Process engineering skills with at least 2 -3 years of industrial work experience.
  • Experience with engineering calculations, equipment sizing, specifications, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with commissioning of systems, startup and troubleshooting of equipment is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.
  • Adept at dealing with client's and other people in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Use of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office Suite to navigate a server environment and prepare engineering documents.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Project to create schedules, and track project resources.
  • Valid driver's license, and owner of a car.
