Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the migration and decommissioning of switching systems from legacy DMS10/100 to advanced C20/G9/G6 technologies, ensuring minimal impact to customer services.
  • Lead hardware and software upgrade initiatives across switching technologies (C20/G9/G6), maintaining alignment with current network requirements and standards.
  • Manage the build and implementation of the Traffic Operator Position System (TOPS) replacement project, ensuring successful delivery and integration.
  • Direct large-scale CRTC-mandated projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Supervise the execution of major builds, migrations, and decommissioning activities involving DMS and C20 systems.
  • Coordinate hardware and software upgrades across various switching network components, working closely with external vendors (e.g., Ribbon, Juniper).
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in the decommissioning of legacy switching equipment, ensuring effective removal and system integration.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation required.
  • P. Eng (Professional Engineer) certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage master plans and schedules, develop solutions to program challenges, and lead cross-departmental teams.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on program performance through team meetings, project updates, and status reports.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and adhere to Project Management standards, processes, and principles.
  • Accountable to executive sponsors for the schedule, budget, and quality of all program components.
  • Lead high-level program planning and schedule development sessions.
  • Review and approve project plans to ensure alignment with program strategy and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary communication channel to executive sponsors and the program steering committee, providing regular briefings and status updates.
  • Escalate critical decisions to executive sponsors as needed.
  • Define and establish reporting structures and Project Management Organization (PMO) frameworks to support project requirements and business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding project status and progress.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for acceleration and resource optimization.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Contribute to the long-term Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN) strategy development.

  • Work hours are Monday - Friday, normal 37.5 hours weeks working onsite up to 5 days a week
