About the Role

The Live-in Superintendent for Gatineau location will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the property to a high standard.

Key duties include property maintenance and repairs, managing tenant relations, ensuring building security and safety, performing cleaning tasks, handling property showings, overseeing tenant move-ins and move-outs, and responding promptly to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep the building and grounds safe, clean, and presentable.
  • Perform basic minor repairs and maintenance on building interior and exterior.
  • Conduct general maintenance tasks like grounds upkeep, gardening, snow removal, and sweeping.
  • Supervise and organize tasks for external workers.
  • Oversee safety tests and building system checks.
  • Complete painting tasks or coordinate with a contractor if needed.
  • Prepare units for new tenants, assist with move-ins and move-outs, and rent vacant units.
  • Manage garbage bins for city collection and return them to their proper place.
  • Respond promptly to tenant questions, concerns, and emergencies.
  • Monitor building activities and ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Handle administrative tasks like data entry and record-keeping.

About you

  • Clear criminal record required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and French;
  • Working knowledge of multi-residential building systems and equipment is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Residential Tenancies Act is an asset.
  • Proficiency in maintenance tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent follow-up skills with tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
