Technician - Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain food manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as hydronic and hydraulic seals, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as controls, proximity sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, water heaters, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans, and powered industrial equipment.
  • Welding equipment such as frames, conveyors, package handling equipment, carts, and guards.
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Technician / Mechanic Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Intermediate electrical experience and ability.
  • Basic to intermediate welding experience.
  • Basic to intermediate HVAC experience.
  • Responsible, trustworthy, takes initiative and keeps busy.
  • Ability to perform basic mental math
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively work with others and as part of a team
  • Refrigeration, warehouse, production or manufacturing experience preferred
