Registered Practical Nurse - Harriston

Full-Time (Day Hours and One Early Evening)

The Minto-Mapleton Family Health Team (FHT) is seeking a full-time RPN and strong team player to join our FHT, working out of our new Harriston site at the Lions Medical Centre.

Position Summary

The RPN will work closely with the Clinic's Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Receptionist to provide a welcoming and positive experience for our patients. The RPN is expected to function independently within the RPN scope of practice, and collaboratively with clinic's NP and Receptionist. Main duties include: patient assessments and triage, vaccination, blood draws, and treatment of various conditions within the scope of the RPN and the primary care setting. The RPN uses the Team's electronic medical record (EMR) for scheduling and documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Current registration and good standing with the CNO
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively which is clear, concise and accurate (verbal and written)
• Strong team player and keen willingness to learn
• Sensitive to the needs of a diverse patient population
• Comfortable with technology and quickly able to learn our EMR
• Respects the importance of confidentiality especially working in a small community
• Experience working in a primary care setting is an asset

Requirements

• Reliable transportation
  
• Up-to-date immunizations

Compensation:

• Hourly rate of pay of $26 to $27.26 (37.5 hours per week)
• Paid vacation, 11 paid stat days and 2 paid wellness days
