About the Associate Brand Manager Wines Role

Support the respective Marketing / Brand manager in order to deliver superior performance on respective portfolio, driving value and share growth, exceeding industry trends, delivering on annual budgets and competitive performance. Support the Marketing / Brand Managers with specific duties outlined below, effectively communicate with key internal and external stakeholders, such as shopper marketing, sales and external agencies. Support the Brand Managers in the preparation and execution of brand plans, performance reporting, budget management, gathering of competitive intelligence, opportunity analysis, customer proposals, sales force liaison and handling supply issues where required.

Key Deliverables

  • Support the Brand Managers and Country Manager (where relevant) in the development and execution of national marketing plans.
  • Support preparation of presentations required for brand plans, business reviews and customer presentations.
  • Assist Brand Managers in monitoring & maintenance of spend by region.
  • Prepare quarterly budget reconciliations (Spent, Committed, Balance, etc.), and recommends course correction where required to keep on budget
  • Source marketing information, images, content and creative as required by Brand Managers. Be the point of contact for Brand 360 needs and requirements in Canada.
  • Work collaboratively with trade marketing and sales teams on planning and execution of promotional programs and the production of display materials, brand collateral, sell sheets, etc. and ensure sound execution of materials by Sales team
  • Ensure timely delivery of programs to LCB customers and the PMA Sales team. Communicate deadlines to key stakeholders.
  • To play a key role in consumer and brand events. Focus on sound execution and delivery of marketing and commercial objectives
  • Support team efforts to develop listing proposals that provide concise and compelling rationale.
  • To consolidate, track and project manage all tender applications. Provide insights on tender success and consolidate feedback on areas of opportunity.
  • Develop presentations with key selling features and benefits to support tender efforts. Ensure Brand Managers have sales collateral to include in their tender applications.
  • Liaise with supplier logistics team to ensure that production timing, volume and shipping are in line with Retail Store requirements. If not take the appropriate action.
  • Manage POS inventories centrally and ensure provinces are fully stocked.
  • Participate in provincial planning sessions to develop strong local programming.
  • Preparation of monthly reports on brand depletions, market share, value vs our competition, distribution and activity reports, in order to track performance and develop forecasts - share with key stakeholders
  • Fully utilize data to identify areas of focus or opportunities.
  • Ensure R.O.I. analysis of programming and initiatives.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education required, preferably with sales or marketing emphasis.
  • Experience working within the beverage alcohol industry is a plus.
  • 1-2+ years' experience in a marketing & sales role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills and an attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate and keenly interested in the beverage alcohol industry.
  • High energy and results oriented.
  • Aware of personal impact and takes genuine interest in his or her contribution to PMA operational effectiveness and culture.

Physical Demands

  • Position is mostly sedentary and requires use of computer.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Some evening / weekend work may be required
