Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Junior Buyer ensures the availability of products to meet internal customer requirements, maintains optimal inventory levels, and negotiates prices, delivery, and special terms.
Key Accountabilities:
(40%) Negotiate and purchase inventory at competitive prices from our strategic vendors, ensuring timely delivery.
(20%) Maintain item forecast parameters for suggested purchasing and ensure inventory turnover ratio targets are met for purchased products.
(20%) Vendor Management. Monitor vendor performance and build and maintain relationships with vendors.
(10%) Coordinate job activities between suppliers and internal operational functions such as receiving and shipping.
(10%) Print and sort work orders, publish drawings, and run and analyze reports.
Duties:
  • Ensure sufficient inventory of purchased items to meet internal customers' needs.
  • Work cooperatively with operations and planning teammates to administer data transactions.
  • Purchase merchandise from approved suppliers based on price and product availability, making informed decisions.
  • Manage consumable inventory, ensuring proper usage of bin cards and setting appropriate min/max levels.
  • Report inventory discrepancies in the ERP system.
  • Keep supplier data, including special costing and lead times, up-to-date.
  • Maintain special SKU costs in the system.
  • Manage supplier rejects and returns, including defective, obsolete, or mistakenly received merchandise, and request debit memos when appropriate.
  • File and manage documentation (Purchase Order, Order Confirmation, Quotation...etc.).
  • Participate in the annual physical inventory count.
  • Meet with vendors to build and maintain relationships and negotiate special agreements.
  • Collaborates with the Supply Chian Manager on all duties.
  • Perform other assigned related tasks.

Successful candidates must have:
  • Minimum of two years of industry experience preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Mandarin is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Energetic and positive professional attitude.
  • Excellent stress management.
  • Product knowledge is an asset.
