An award-winning architecture firm located in downtown Vancouver that has been designing buildings and communities in BC, Alberta, and Nova Scotia since 1999. The team is diverse and evolving, consisting of designers and architects who value strong client relationships, effective communication, and high-quality sustainable design that significantly impacts people's lives. With a varied client base that includes developers and non-profit organizations, the firm's portfolio includes wood frame, concrete, steel, and CLT residential buildings, including mixed-use, social, and affordable housing.

Why is this role open:

The firm is looking to bring on an experienced architecture Project Manager to hit the ground running on residential projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all phases of residential architecture projects from inception to completion, including developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, goals, and design preferences, ensuring that their vision is accurately translated into the project.
  • Lead and collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless coordination and project execution.
  • Produce and review architectural documentation, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct on-site visits to monitor project progress, ensure quality control, address any issues, and prepare field review reports.
  • Manage the production of contract documents and administer contracts during the construction phase, including handling modifications, Requests for Information, Change Directives, and Change Orders.

Must haves:

  • 5-10 years of experience (preferably gained in BC)
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Architecture or a Diploma in Architectural Technology
  • A proven ability to Produce architectural documentation for all phases of project work- Experience in the production of contract documents, contract administration or direct construction experience.
  • Experience conducting on-site visits for review, preparing field review reports
  • Proficient in ArchiCAD preferred or other BIM software; willingness to learn Archicad
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam PDF preferred
Nice-to-haves:
  • Understanding of contracts including CCDC 2 and AIBC/RAIC Document 6, and the documents used during the phase of construction to administer or modify the contract, including Requests for Information; Change Directives; Change Orders; Contemplated/Proposed Change Orders, Certificates for Payment, etc. considered an asset
  • LEED and/or Passive House Accreditation an asset
