Location: Various locations across Ontario
As a Charge Nurse, you will take on a leadership role within the nursing team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring high standards of patient care.Your expertise will be critical in coordinating nursing activities, supporting staff, and facilitating effective communication among healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Oversee patient assignments and ensure that care is delivered effectively and efficiently, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Conduct assessments, monitor patient conditions, and make clinical decisions to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, adhering to protocols and standards to maintain high-quality care.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Act as a first responder to any emergencies within the unit, implementing appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, assessments, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR).

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) is acceptable with relevant experience.
  • Valid state RN license and current CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in a nursing role, with at least one year in a leadership or supervisory position preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality.
