The Care Company is looking for an awesome, self-driven Register Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with paediatric home care. Specifically, we are looking for someone to support a 6-month-old baby's transition home from the hospital.

Shifts

• All nursing assignments with The Care Company require someone who can commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule where you would see the same client for the same shift, each week, every week.
• 8-hour day and evening shifts, 7 days/week required, FT or PT hours available for this assignment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Register Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
• Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
• Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
• Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
• Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
• Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
• Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly

Requirements

Must have Paediatric experience with any of the following interventions:

• Tracheostomy care (suctioning, dressing maintenance, and trach changes) **Required**
• G and J tube feeding **required**
• ventilators
• Bi-pap or C-pap
• Cough assist
• Oxygenation
• Seizure monitoring

Other requirements include:

• An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
• Negative TB Test completed within the last year
• CNO Registration and nursing certificate/diploma
• COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
• Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
• Valid CPR/First Aid/BLS certification
• Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
