POSITION: HSE Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is confidentially recruiting a full-time HSE Manager for a leading oil and gas firm in the Grande Prairie region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience, a proactive approach, and excel in team collaboration and management to foster a strong safety culture within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and mentor department staff
- Build upon, develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and training to ensure regulatory compliance (ISNetworld/ComplyWorks/Avetta)
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards
Perform comprehensive site safety audits and conduct company-wide safety meetings and orientations
Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with various teams to promote a strong safety culture and encourage safe work practices
Prepare detailed reports and analytics to monitor HSE metrics and assess program effectiveness
Serve as the HSE subject matter expert in communications with government agencies and other external stakeholders
Manage WCB accounts and handle case management.
Oversee contractor management programs and third-party vendor compliance
Ensure adherence to OHS regulations and federal standards
Manage out-of-province safety requirements and conduct compliance audits
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience as an HSE Manager in the oil and gas industry
Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract
Valid H2S, CSO, and First Aid certifications
Proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive HSE programs
Preference for candidates with recognized safety credentials (NCSO or CRSP)
Formal risk analysis and investigation training (SCAT/Taproot) is an asset
Familiarity with regulatory agencies and policies and procedures
Proficient in P&ID interpretation and knowledgeable in risk management strategies
In-depth understanding of HSE regulations and industry standards
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Team-oriented with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset
